Dahab area
Dahab is located in the South Sinai and has some of the most spectacular dive sites in the world. It lies alongside the deepest section of the African rift, the giant crack in the earth’s crust that formed the Red Sea.
The jagged mountains above Dahab descend at much the same angle under water, to a depth of some 2000m, forming a dramatic seascape of valleys, canyons and caves. Most of Dahab’s dive-spots are geologically unique; the depth of the dive-sites mean that you are in the unique position of seeing pelagic and reef ecosystems coexisting just a few meters from the beach. Two dive-sites, the Canyon and the Blue Hole, are world renowned amongst divers.
Masbat Town
2 km from the Black Rock Dive Centre is the local town of Masbat, which offers a traditional Egyptian experience. Busy market stalls, shops, restaurants and cafes welcome visitors from all over the world. The European influence has gently flavoured Masbat and many bars now offer alcohol and SAT TV. There are also several companies establishing excursions and alternative activities packages which are well-worth consideration to enhance your Egyptian experience.Accommodation
All our clients in Dahab are accommodated in the Hotel Coralia, which is another close neighbour of Harry Nass and Black Rock Dive Centre. The hotel enjoys a huge expanse of green open space, no mean feat in the middle of a desert, and is located on the prime stretch of beach within easy reach of the watersports facilities in the day, and the bars at night. It’s beach is shaded and breezy, and the building offers excellent views of the bay.
Our Coaches
The Black Rock Diving Centre is European owned and the teaching environment has without a doubt the most professional, relaxed and fun atmosphere in and around the Dahab area. Ideally located, it is within striking distance of all the major dive sites, as well as the windsurfing and kitesurfing lagoons. It has a wide range of equipment and instructors are professional, laid back, and charming.Course Outline
