This course is ideal for anyone who has ever wanted to windsurf like a pro but never had the time or the guidance necessary to make it happen. Whether you’re a complete beginner or a fairly confident windsurfer, our instructors can hone your skills and give you a chance to ride some of the best waves (and winds) in Australia. Our windsurfing course in Sydney is an opportunity for you to learn from some seriously accomplished windsurfers and instructors who have devoted their lives to this exhilarating sport. Beginner Course
If you are a complete beginner our pro instructors will guide you through the basics of windsurfing, from setting up your board and sail to launching and landing your sailboard, you will relish every second spent in the water. Ocean awareness is a major part of becoming a successful windsurfer and it is really important that you understand how the ocean works. Through learning about rips and swells you will be able to choose the right waves and winds and stay safe while windsurfing. After a week’s instruction you should be standing on your board and competently windsurfing around a triangular course.
Improvement Course
If you already have some windsurfing experience or you want to develop the skills you learnt earlier in the course, our instructors will assess your skill level and decide what you need to work on. These lessons will take place in stronger winds where you will develop your technical skills including beach starts and controlled tacking. Throughout the course, regardless of your skill level, you will be encouraged to progress at your own pace with the full support of our windsurfing instructors. No one expects you to become a master overnight but after some dedicated time in the water, you’ll soon be catching big waves with some of Australia’s finest windsurfers! You will also develop your understanding of the safety considerations associated with windsurfing and will learn self rescue techniques as well as how to tow someone else upwind.
