someone who wants to be involved in humanitarian projects that are helping to improve the quality of life and cultural integration of a population that is still trying to heel the wounds caused by civil war.
The most important skill you’ll need is flexibility, as the work is wide and varied and can change over time. Bring bags of initiative and be willing to work in a team as you’ll be meeting people from all walks of life. Don’t forget Sri Lanka is near the equator so you’ll be working in hot, basic conditions with few resources, so take a few brisk walks before you come to make sure you’re reasonably fit! Oh and don’t bring your best white t-shirt as you’ll probably get dirty!
is for everyone bored with traditional holidays! It's full of excitement and the best of Southern Africa. It's a great addition to a gap year schedule and can be combined with other i-to-i projects. Come fully determined to enjoy the outdoor life and willing to live with just the basics as there won't be any hotels!
